For the first time in history a fetus will be allowed to submit testimony into open court. It will be testifying for an Ohio anti-abortion bill entitled the Heartbeat Bill. It seeks to criminalize abortions for any reason once the fetus has a detectable heartbeat. This can happen as early as 18 days after conception. Lynn Watchmann (R), the Ohio represenative who introduced the bill was quoted as saying, "It's really as simple as that. ... As technology improves in medicine, as it continually does, that protection will move closer and closer to conception, which is I think for many of us what our ultimate goal of protecting life is."
Moral of the Story:
Opponents of abortion will use any tactless tactic to win their fight, and are in this for the long game.
